Crisis leading to the referral at Dover Veterinary Hospital, Dover, NH -----"the hook"

I count recommend u/s 5 times, do you think it was important for me to have an ultrasound done?? Professional impartial review of Pocket's x-ray indicates NO abdominal mass as suggested
And I can't help but add my 2 cents, that a urine with a low specific gravity, 1+ protein, is highly doubtful to have "coarse granular casts" and remotely suggest a "glomerular nephritis" diagnosis.
**On the subjest of urinalysis : a dipstick does not accurately reflect the true specific gravity and I can't help but be curious as to why Dover didn't run a few repeated urine SG with their refractometer. Would it be that perhaps her urine would have been repeatly "isothenuric" meaning the kidneys do not have the ablity to dilute NOR concentrate?
Excerpts from vetinfo4dogs :
"Urine in the range from 1.008 to 1.012 is considered to be isothenuric,Specific gravity ranges between 1.012 and 1.030 are indicative of some kidney function ,When kidneys are working, they produce urine that is more concentrated than the plasma. Typically, a dog should be able to
concentrate urine above the specific gravity of 1.020. If several urine
samples taken during the day all fail to have a urine concentration greater
than 1.020, that would be a sign that the kidneys are not working properly"
