The 3 littermate sisters died within 2 months of each other: Argyll in August, Pocket in October, and Abby in December 2006.
It has been my experience, that more often than not, certain cancers are hereditary just as in human families. Pocket's dam died of a liver tumor and calcified gall bladder, diagnosed via ultrasound (not the same clinic!!) a few weeks before her failure and subsequent immediate humane euthanasia.
**owner & veterinarian clinic blacked out to protect their privacy**
Abby's owner was told by her veterinarian that the Transitional Cell Carcinoma did not cause her failure/death, but the liver & spleen neoplasms were the primary cause
